摘要：A spoken dialog system is constructed to sufficiently understand a user'sresponse to the open-ended prompt ‘How may I help you?’ in order to route a callerto an appropriate destination, with subsequent processing for information retrieval orcall/task completion. In this invention the relationships among the call types arestructured into an inheritance hierarchy. Then a dialog manager exploits this hierarchyand the output of a spoken language understanding module to generate a set ofsemantically consistent task objectives.
