摘要：A server station for managing an item of equipment of a telecommunicationssystem is responsive to control messages from a client application to perform operationsin order to manage the item. A plurality of client applications can send control messagesto the server station via a management communications network. The server stationcomprises means for accessing a store of address information for the client applications,an interface for receiving a message from a first client application, and means fordetermining whether the message is a control message for the server or a messagedestined for a second client application. A router, responsive to the interface determiningthat the message is destined for a second client application uses the address informationto re-route the message via said management communications network to the secondclient application. By this approach, the actual management communications networkused by the client applications to manage items of equipment via one or more serverstations is also used for the transmission of messages between users of the clientapplications, the server station being used as a router for these messages.
