TheTLV1117isapositivelow-dropoutvoltageregulatordesignedtoprovideupto800mAofoutputcurrent.Thedeviceisavailablein1.5-V,1.8-V,2.5-V,3.3-V,5-V,andadjustable-outputvoltageoptions.Allinternalcircuitryisdesignedtooperatedownto1-Vinput-to-outputdifferential.Dropoutvoltageisspecifiedatamaximumof1.3Vat800mA,decreasingatlowerloadcurrents.
Thelow-profilesurface-mountKTPpackageallowsthedevicetobeusedinapplicationswherespaceislimited.TheTLV1117isdesignedtobestablewithtantalumandaluminumelectrolyticoutputcapacitorshavinganESRbetween0.2Ωand10Ω.
Unlikepnp-typeregulators,inwhichupto10%oftheoutputcurrentiswastedasquiescentcurrent,thequiescentcurrentoftheTLV1117flowsintotheload,increasingefficiency.
TheTLV1117Cdeviceischaracterizedforoperationoverthevirtualjunctiontemperaturerangeof0°Cto125°C,andtheTLV1117Ideviceischaracterizedforoperationoverthevirtualjunctiontemperaturerangeof–40°Cto125°C.
