If a Microsoft Office of Office family program ① encounters a problem and stops responding, you can close the program in a controlled manner. The files you were working on are analyzed ② for errors ,and information in them is recovered if possible. In some cases, however, no information can be recovered.

Follow the steps to change the ⑤ save interval , for automatic file recovery

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and click the Save tab. 2. Select the Save AutoRecover info every ⑥ check box . 3. In the minutes box, ⑦ specify how often you want your Microsoft Office ⑧ program to save files.

Note: do not use Auto Recover as a ⑨ substitute for regularly saving your work by clicking Save on the Standard ⑩ toolbar .
