登山运动是对生命极限的挑战。登山运动对登山队员的综合素质以及登山技术与经验的要求都很高运动。登山者还需要一定的社会经验，需要有分析、解决实际问题的能力和困境磨练出来的坚强意志。登山者需要较长时间的、运动量很大的适应性训练，需要多次攀登来提高技术和累积经验。
而学生在学校以学习为主，没有太多时间进行超强度的体能训练和攀援高山，积累技术和经验是比较困难的，而20出头的学生很年轻，社会经验与经历都不多。所以学生登山一定要慎之又慎。
我们应该从这类事件中吸取教训，防止类似的事件再次发生。这不是否定登山运动，而是为了使登山运动向更健康的方向发展。
首先，学生登山队对高山、季节的选择要科学。其次，对自己的实力要有客观的认识，在了解自己的情况下做好尽可能好的生命保障措施；再次，社会对学生登山的积极性要保护、要支持。
长期以来，我们是不是常常赋予“坚强、坚忍不拔、临危不惧、勇往直前”等概念于理想主义的色彩，片面强调用勇敢的精神去战胜困境，片面强调用刻苦学习的精神加班加点地学习
